Y O G A


HOT-85 YOGA FLOW
~ Instructor: Gwenn Jones
This Hot class is a passionate and loyal practice designed to strengthen, lengthen, and balance the body, while increasing stamina. The heated room aids in movement, depth of posture, and concentration. You will come away feeling energetic and cleansed; heart opened and mind soothed. With this committed practice, you will realize a higher functioning mental and physical performance. And, you will just plain feel great inside and out! Dress to sweat. LEVEL: All levels. [However, not for a first-time yoga class.] Room temperature is 85°F. Hydrate before, during and post-class. [75 min.]



YOGA FLOW
~ Instructor: Gwenn
Power YOGA Classes A lively, challenging and supportive environment. We practice a slow flow of asanas (poses) created to enhance strong, lean physiques, develop focus, improve balance, and raise endurance. Postures are held for several breaths as your body heat builds, heart rate elevates, and caloric-burn increases. You will feel your breath, your focus, and your center fire up and unite. You might just discover your new normal! Prepare for some sweat. LEVEL: Appropriate for all. [75 min.]



SOFT YOGA   Gentle - Beginner and beyond
~ Instructor: Gwenn
Gentle postures and transitions encompass asanas in a step-by-step format. This slow practice encourages work “from our foundation, outward” and helps reduce stress, pain, respiration rate, blood pressure. Modifications and accessories are available to address back and joint issues to make your practice comfortable. More benefits are increased concentration, flexibility, muscle tone and stability. Both floor and standing postures are integrated. You will come away with a joyful self-acceptance LEVEL: Appropriate for beginners, and/or low mobility, or a more gentle practice. [75 min.]

Five-week Series classes are available every two months for Beginners. See Schedule page for this season's session. Or call studio to set up a beginner series (530) 889-2920.

~ Clean, bare feet are appreciated
~ Clean, rubber-bottom shoes [fitness classes]
(no black-soled workout shoes)

~ Avoid heavy meals 2-3 hours prior to practice

PILATES   [Classic Style]
~ Instructor: Cecelia Cowles
This dynamic form of mind-body exercise works every muscle group with emphasis on the abdominal core and spine. Classic Pilates mat exercises and breathing technique are taught with beginning, intermediate, and advanced versions demonstrated. Pilates develops every aspect of physical fitness: strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance, while promoting relaxation and the release of tension. Integral breath control increases blood oxygenation and improves circulation leaving you invigorated. [This is a mat class.]
LEVEL: Excellent for all levels. [60 min.]



ZUMBA® Dance-Fitness
~ Instructor: Stacia George
You do not need any dance experience to enjoy Zumba® Zumba Class at Auburn Yoga-Fitness What is Zumba? ~ Zumba® fuses Latin rhythms and today’s popular music with fun dance steps (salsa, meringue, samba, hip-hop and more) combined with basic fitness moves that are easy to learn and fun to do. Zumba® will get you in excellent cardiovascular shape as you scorch calories and tone your body. Dress in workout clothes and athletic shoes that allow you to move comfortably and sweat. ZUMBA® is the hottest fitness class across the U.S. over the last few years. LEVEL: Suitable for all levels and ages. Wear cool workout clothes, clean workout shoes (no black-soled shoes please). [60 min.]



NIA Class
~ Instructor: Laura Linsteadt
Nia is the "Love Your Body Workout." It combines 9 movement forms - Tai Chi, Yoga, Aikido, Tae Kwon Do, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, and the Dance Arts with Modern, Duncan, and Jazz – to create a powerful and joyful fitness experience. In Nia we honor the wisdom of the body and how it is designed to move as well as honoring your body and how it moves. Nia has 3 levels to encourage the beginner as well as the advanced to move at their own level and pace.




BALLET CLASS ~ Teens & Youth
~ Instructor: Cecelia Cowles
Ballet promotes coordination, confidence and graceful fluid movement to students of all ages. Classical training is built upon a foundation of proper technique which enhances the student's overall strength, dance ability and creates long lean muscles. Cecelia uses creative music and positive verbal encouragement to inspire, motivate and reward her students, who thrive under her training. YOGA STRETCH
~ Instructor: Gwenn Jones
Relax and enjoy this fresh stretch. Yoga-inspired stretches restore your mind and body to calm, while rekindling muscle pliability. Stretches are quite prolonged for complete release to elongate muscles and relax tight zones. Wrap up your week with this Friday dessert. Modification-friendly. LEVEL: Suitable for all. [75 min.]
